A gent! Set up a second hand bass guitar borrowed from a friend which is now recording worthy saving me the cash to buy a used bass. Also finally got my stock strat set-up beautifully. Plays like a new guitar. Guy knows his strats and it shows. Highly recommended.

My acoustic guitar that was built and bought from Vietnam totally lost it’s intonation. That because the wood of the fret board shrunk a little because of the temperature here (cold and no humidity).I tried everything to fix it and I failed. Brought it to Sam and he sorted out my guitar in no time! He really knows what he’s doing, easy and nice to talk to and a lovely person. I highly recommend his shop if your planning to purchase or have a guitar fixed. 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽❤️❤️❤️

Sam gave me some great, honest guidance when buying my first electric guitar last week. He listened to what I wanted and set me up with everything I need to get shredding for a very reasonable price considering it's all quality equipment. His 'open' sign made me feel right at home too. Thanks Sam!
Sam has absolutely saved Chester from the death of the guitar shop. Aside from questioning the amount of cheese I put on my pizza ("not enough"), my ability to park when he watches or just general life choices, there is no one that I would trust more with my guitars. Every service and repair has been absolutely smashed out of the park and beyond. One of the most knowledgeable people in the business, a genuine pleasure to have him do what he does.

Best guitar tech around! I took an old Squire P-Bass to Sam for some new pickups, electronics and setup, and his work has brought this old bass back to life. It sounds absolutely brilliant. Really tightened up the sound, even with the tone rolled right off its got great note clarity and punch.I've also had a guitar setup by him as well which was also perfectly done. Great to see such an excellent music shop in Chester.

Sam’s Guitars was started in 2020 due to Sam’s lifelong passion for guitars.

Sam began playing at age 5 and hasn’t stopped playing, working and writing about guitars. At age 15 he began playing live in various bands. As of 2022, Sam still plays in the band 1968.

At age 23 he became a fully published author of a book regarding The Fender Stratocaster. As well as writing for UniVibes, The International Jimi Hendrix Magazine, Sam has recently begun work for as a contributor.

Sam started repairing his own guitars and then onto others back in 2001 and has built up a loyal customer base since.

With 2020 putting an end to Sam’s career in Dawson’s Music, the time was right for Sam to start up Sam’s Guitars. After a stressful two years of planning, the project came to life and opened its doors on 16th August 2021.

Now located at 53 Brook Street in Chester, Sam has gone from Strength to strength with customers such as Eric Gales walking through the doors.

Sam strives to give the best customer service to his customers and visitors.

Sam’s Guitars is open for sales, part exchange, buy-ins, lessons, repairs, amplifier repairs, effects pedal repairs and many more.

Due to Sam’s sheer hatred of online shopping, this site serves as a secondary window for the shop and will be updated as and when new stock arrives.

Please use the contact form on the page if you wish to enquire about any stock available.

Sam’s Guitars is also involved in charitable guitar donations which are given to those less fortunate after restoration work has been carried out.

This has been greatly received by those in need.

Sam’s Guitars proudly sells BlackStar, Vintage, Fender, Fuzzbeard Pedals, Warwick, MusicNomad, Tom’s Vintage Straps, Ernie Ball Strings and Accessories, Elixir Strings, Hercules and Rockboard products.
